Engineering for Sustainability

Engineering for Sustainability is a five-week summer academy (Munich Summer School of Applied Sciences) at Hochschule München (HM) University of Applied Sciences, delivered in cooperation with California Polytechnic State University. The programme is application-oriented and covers state-of-the-art engineering and business administration topics focused on sustainability. Students select two credit courses from options including Smart Vehicles, Sustainable Mobility, The Potential of Renewable Energy, Hydraulic and Pneumatic Systems, Sustainable AI Agents, and Control Engineering for Sustainable Technical Processes. An intensive German language and culture course is included. Cultural activities include a BMW factory tour, Bavarian lake/mountain day trip, and visits to the Deutsches Museum. A certificate of participation is awarded; up to 14 ECTS points can be earned. Note: this is a non-degree summer programme, not a full Master's degree.

English requirements

English at B2 level (CEFR) minimum. Equivalent TOEFL iBT 90 or native speaker also accepted.

Accepted bachelor fields

Advanced Bachelor's students (undergraduates), especially in engineering and business studies. Open to students in Engineering, Environmental Science, and Natural Sciences.
