Programme Overview

This English-language master's programme deepens core computer-science knowledge and offers specialization options in Core Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Human-Centred Computing, or Information Systems. It is designed as a research-oriented consecutive programme with flexible course choice.

Admission Requirements

Academic requirements: GRE General Test required if undergraduate degree not from Lisbon Recognition Convention signatory country.
Minimum GPA: overall grade of at least 2.5; if the degree is not yet completed, the transcript must show a provisional overall grade of at least 2.5
English requirements: English at CEFR level B2 is required. Official language tests such as IELTS, TOEFL or PTE are accepted. A bachelor's thesis written in English also counts as proof; if the degree programme was taught in English but the thesis was not written in English, a language certificate is still required.
German requirements: No knowledge of German is required, but recommended.
Accepted bachelor fields: Admission requires a first degree with at least 180 ECTS and subject-specific prior knowledge in Theoretical Computer Science (12 ECTS), Technical Computer Science (12 ECTS), Practical Computer Science (12 ECTS), additional Computer Science modules (24 ECTS), and Mathematics including linear algebra, analysis, probability, numerics and statistics (18 ECTS).
