Bilingual Bachelor's (BiBa) in Computer Science

A bilingual computer-science bachelor's that begins with English-medium teaching and gradually transitions to more German, allowing students to build technical knowledge and language ability in parallel. It covers core computer-science foundations and leads into the regular study environment at OVGU.

Academic requirements

You need to have an academic level corresponding to a German 'Abitur' or the British A-Levels. If your school leaving certificate is not equivalent, there are several ways to get up to speed: e.g. Take part in a Preparatory Year (Prep Year), called a 'Studienkolleg' in Germany. In some cases, you can attend university in your home country for a year or two, taking certain courses, and then transfer to our BiBa programme.

Minimum GPA

No fixed minimum GPA is published on the current official programme page.

English requirements

English at B2 level (minimum TOEFL iBT 72-94 or IELTS 6.0), as stated on the official OVGU programme page.

German requirements

English track: No knowledge of German is required for admission, but A1 is required before starting the programme in October. German track: English AND German at least B2 for admission.

Accepted bachelor fields

Higher education entrance qualification equivalent to the German Abitur for admission to a bachelor's programme in computer science.
