English requirements

English at CEFR C1 level. The reviewed official American Studies application pages state that proof can be documented by at least ten years of English instruction and/or standard language certificates, with final evaluation also taking place during the entrance exam.

Accepted bachelor fields

An academic degree in American Studies or from another course of study that feeds into American Studies teaching and research. The reviewed official institute pages further state that related fields overlapping with American Studies, such as literary, cultural, history, or media studies, can be suitable backgrounds.
