Biblical Studies

One-year English-language master's in Biblical Studies that develops advanced skills in the analysis and interpretation of Hebrew Bible and New Testament texts in the original languages and is well suited as preparation for doctoral work.

Academic requirements

International applicants who are not considered as equivalent to German citizens by or on the basis of international treaties and who do not have a German university entrance qualification must pass the examination to determine their ability to study (Appendix 3, Examination Regulations).

English level B2 CEFR or comparable proof such as TOEFL, IELTS, or Cambridge.

Accepted bachelor fields

Protestant Theology, Roman Catholic Theology, Old Catholic Theology, Religious Studies, Orthodox Theology, or a related field. Applicants also need prior work with Biblical source texts in Hebrew and Greek.
