Econometrics

This English-language joint master's programme combines economics and statistics across TU Dortmund, Ruhr University Bochum, and the University of Duisburg-Essen. It provides specialized training in econometrics and applied economic research.

Academic requirements

essay of at most two pages on the academic background in view of the pursued Master's programme on Econometrics; general school graduation certificate relevant to university enrolment; certificate of completion for an online self-assessment

Minimum GPA

final bachelor's grade at least 2.7, plus an average grade of at least 3.0 in the mathematics/statistics/econometrics/empirical economic research modules

English requirements

Proof of English competence at least at CEFR level B2 is required. Accepted proof includes an internationally recognized language certificate, a diploma from an English-speaking school or degree programme, or comparable evidence.

German requirements

German language skills are an advantage, but a proof is NOT required. The entire programme can be completed without knowledge of the German language.

Accepted bachelor fields

Admission requires a bachelor's degree in statistics, economics, mathematics, or a comparable field with at least 180 ECTS. In addition, at least 15 ECTS in economics and at least 25 ECTS in mathematics, statistics, econometrics, and empirical economic research are required.
