Master of International and Development Economics (MIDE)

HTW Berlin, the largest university of applied sciences in Berlin, offers an 18-month full-time Master's degree programme in "International and Development Economics" (MIDE), taught entirely in English. Designed for students from developing and transition countries as well as from industrialised nations, MIDE aims to provide students with a sound understanding of current development policies.

Academic requirements

Applicants for a DAAD scholarship must come from a developing country and have at least two years of professional experience since graduation, but should not have graduated more than six years ago.

Minimum GPA

English requirements

TOEFL internet-based: 96 points; IELTS grade 7.0; CPE/CAE all levels; or proof that previous degree was taught in English. Test results not older than two years.

Accepted bachelor fields

Economics background required: minimum of 15 ECTS credits in Economics (or at least three Economics-related modules for non-ECTS systems). First university degree with 180 ECTS or equivalent.
