Immunobiology: From Molecules to Integrative Systems

This MSc trains students in immunology and systems biology with a focus on the molecular and structural processes of the immune system together with genomics, epigenetics, and bioinformatics. The programme combines coursework with research training, lab rotations, and a master's thesis in Bonn or a partner institution.

Academic requirements

Applicants must have conducted an experimental Bachelor's thesis or a thesis in the field of bioinformatics.

Minimum GPA

At least 2.5 in the German grading system or a local equivalent.

English requirements

English at CEFR B2. The official programme pages state B2, while the LIMES programme information gives examples such as TOEFL PBT 550, TOEFL CBT 213, TOEFL iBT 87-109, or IELTS 6.0.

Accepted bachelor fields

Applicants need a university degree in a relevant field such as molecular biomedicine, immunology, biology or molecular biology, biochemistry, bioinformatics, or a related discipline. The official programme page also requires at least 30 ECTS across at least three of the following areas: chemical biology, developmental biology, immunology, genetics, and biochemistry, plus an experimental bachelor's thesis or a bachelor's thesis in applied bioinformatics.
