Environment and Society

Interdisciplinary master's programme at the interface of environment and society, focused on environmental change, justice, biodiversity, pollution, public health, and related analytical and communication methods.

Academic requirements

Fully completed digital application form, Curriculum Vitae (two pages maximum), Copy of a Bachelor's degree, Transcript of records, Motivational letter in English, no more than 800 words, Writing sample (maximum 2,000 words) in English or German.

Minimum GPA

Applicants need at least German grade 2.5 or equivalent.

English requirements

Applicants must submit valid English proof. Accepted tests listed by the programme include TOEFL iBT above 95, IELTS 7.0 or above, Duolingo 120 or above, or Cambridge C1 Advanced and above. Exemptions are limited to certain native-English-speaker cases.

Accepted bachelor fields

Requires a previous degree in environmental sciences, geography, sociology, political science, sustainability studies, anthropology, economics with environmental focus, or a closely related field.
