Master's in European Studies

This English-language master's programme approaches Europe as both a global actor and a transnational community through a multidisciplinary perspective. It combines advanced research and methodological training with the option of a semester abroad at one of the programme's European partner universities.

Academic requirements

Applicants must demonstrate their aptitude for the European Studies graduate programme by successfully passing the selection procedure (see website).

Minimum GPA

final or preliminary final grade of 2.5 or better

English requirements

English at C1 level or higher. The official page states that accepted proof includes usual certificates such as TOEFL iBT with at least 95 points or IELTS with a band score of at least 7.0.

German requirements

Students without prior knowledge of German must reach level A1+ (CEFR) in German by the end of their first year of study. Language courses are available at the university.

Accepted bachelor fields

Applicants need a first academic degree, usually a B.A. or equivalent or higher, in the humanities, social sciences, economics, or law. At the time of application, the transcript should document at least 150 ECTS if the final certificate is not yet available.
