Programme Overview

The master's programme focuses on speech and language processing and combines formal linguistics with empirical and computational work. It includes a mandatory internship and can be completed entirely in English.

Admission Requirements

Academic requirements: In exceptional cases applicants may be admitted who have completed their qualifying degree (grade "good" 2.5 or better) in another, comparable study programme with academic achievements that make successful participation in the Master's programme in Speech and Language Processing likely.
Minimum GPA: Final grade of at least 2.5 on the German grading scale.
English requirements: English at CEFR C1 is required. Applicants with a BA or MA from an English-language programme or who attended an English-language secondary school are exempt from separate English proof.
Accepted bachelor fields: A qualified degree with a grade of at least 2.5 from a programme in linguistics, or in justified exceptional cases another equivalent programme with competencies that support successful study in speech and language processing.

Tuition fee: None for EU/EEA students; 1,500 EUR per semester tuition for international students from outside the EU/EEA who are subject to Baden-Wuerttemberg tuition fees.
