Electrical and Computer Engineering (M Eng)

This English-taught master's programme trains students to solve complex technical and scientific tasks in electrical and computer engineering, with strengths in embedded microcontroller systems and software-intensive systems. Electives in systems engineering, media technology, and management support technical specialization and practical project work.

Academic requirements

Aptitude test procedure: 1. final grade of first academic degree; 2. other criteria: letter of motivation/justification for desired degree programme, proof of relevant professional experience of at least one year, CV, in some cases, an aptitude interview.

Minimum GPA

Final grade up to 2.4 enters the assessment procedure; final grade above 2.4 is not eligible for admission.

English requirements

Applicants who did not obtain their bachelor's degree at an English-speaking university must prove English at C1 level; the official page lists TOEFL minimum 95 iBT and IELTS minimum 7.0.

Accepted bachelor fields

A qualified university degree in electrical engineering and information technology, biomedical engineering, media technology, or a comparable field is required. Relevant qualified professional experience of at least one year after the first degree is also a prerequisite for admission.

Besides companies involved with electrical and computer engineering, there are many other exciting possibilities, e.g. in the automobile industry, the aerospace and space industry, medical engineering, or media technology. And of course, graduates of the Master's degree programme shape technologies of the future such as automation, communication, and the provision of energy on the basis of renewable energies.
