Materials Science and Engineering

An English-taught MSc that combines the development, characterization, processing, and application of modern materials with a strong sustainability orientation. The programme covers the full materials cycle from synthesis and manufacturing to use and recycling.

Academic requirements

Admission takes place after a qualification assessment test.

Minimum GPA

Minimum final grade of 2.5 on the German grading scale.

English requirements

English language proficiency at level B2 with a certificate such as IELTS or TOEFL. Applicants from EU countries need at least B2; applicants from non-EU countries need at least B2+ according to the official page.

Accepted bachelor fields

A suitable bachelor's degree in materials science and engineering, nanotechnology, chemistry and chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, physics engineering, or an equivalent degree from one of these areas.
