Battery Materials and Technology (Master of Science)

Interdisciplinary English-taught master's programme covering battery materials, electrochemistry, systems technology, and the battery value chain from materials to pack-level applications.

Academic requirements

A larger number of credits in Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics is evaluated positively.

Minimum GPA

No fixed minimum GPA is published.

English requirements

English at least at B2 CEFR is required. The programme page lists IELTS 6.5 or an equivalent certificate and states that higher English proficiency is positively evaluated. German at A1 may be completed during the first year.

German requirements

GERMAN: level A1; it is recommended that candidates submit their German A1 language certificate at the time of admission. In case this isn’t possible, they must submit it by the end of the second semester.

Accepted bachelor fields

Requires a bachelor's degree in chemistry, polymer and colloid chemistry, biochemistry, physics, materials science and materials engineering, engineering science, or an equivalent quantitative natural-science or engineering degree. Applicants must also show at least 18 ECTS in advanced mathematics plus physics, including at least 8 in mathematics and 5 in physics, and at least 4 ECTS in chemistry.
