Advanced Materials

This research-oriented master's in materials science combines fundamental training with early specialisation in a materials-science research topic. It is offered jointly by the departments of physics and chemistry and includes a high proportion of project and laboratory work.

Academic requirements

Admission may include additional coursework of up to 18 CP, which must be completed within the first two semesters. Admission may be dependent on passing an entrance examination.

English at CEFR B2 is required. Accepted proof includes TOEFL iBT at least 72, IELTS Academic at least 5.5, specified English-medium entrance qualifications or bachelor's degrees from listed countries, UNIcert II, or other B2-certified evidence accepted by the examination board.

Accepted bachelor fields

Applicants need a bachelor's degree in materials science with at least 180 ECTS including a scientific thesis. Other relevant professionally qualifying degrees such as materials science, materials engineering, biomaterials, and energy materials may be recognised case by case.
