Conservation Biology and Applied Ecology

This biosciences master's combines animal ecology, conservation biology, tropical biology, and global change biology. It trains students in ecological and evolutionary principles together with methods such as remote sensing, animal census techniques, statistical data analysis, and conservation strategy development.

Academic requirements

Proof of experimental laboratory experience, preferably by an experimental thesis comprising a minimum of 10 ECTS.

Minimum GPA

The official Master Biosciences qualification page requires an average grade of 3.0 or better in the Bavarian grading system.

English requirements

The official Master Biosciences application page requires English proven by TOEFL 570 paper / 240 computer / 90 iBT, IELTS 6.5 or better, Cambridge CAE, an English-taught bachelor's degree, or equivalent approval by the Faculty of Biology admission committee.

German requirements

Language skills in German are highly recommended, but they are not required for the application.
