Freshman Program of the FH Aachen

A full-year (10-month) foundation programme at FH Aachen designed to prepare international students for German university studies. Three parallel language tracks are offered: English-to-German (transitions from English-medium to German-medium study), English Track (entirely English-medium), and German Track (entirely German-medium). Curriculum covers academic subjects including engineering, business, mathematics, science, and social sciences alongside intensive language instruction. Approximately 300 students complete the programme annually. Accommodation, course fees, language instruction, insurance, materials, and airport transfer are included in the flat fee.

Academic requirements

In order to be admitted to the Freshman Program, you must either complete the Freshman Program entrance exam or complete TestAS, which must be accompanied by an English or German language certificate.

English requirements

English-medium tracks require IELTS 4.5 or TOEFL iBT 53 minimum. No prior knowledge of any other language is required for the English-medium options.

German requirements

For German Track FeP: German level B1 with 90% or B2

Accepted bachelor fields

Open to international students with a secondary-school leaving certificate who wish to prepare for bachelor's degree study in engineering, business, medicine, biology, or psychology at a German university. No prior bachelor's degree is required.

Tuition fee
