Aerospace Computer Science (M.Sc.)

M.Sc. Aerospace Computer Science (Luft- und Raumfahrtinformatik, listed by JMU as Aerospace Informatics), 4 semesters/120 ECTS at Campus Hubland; it can be studied fully in German or fully in English. Replaces the phased-out SaTec master.

Minimum GPA

Aptitude procedure: direct admission if the relevant degree grade is 2.5 or better (or the weighted average of the best 100 ECTS in the required areas); everyone else sits a written exam (45-90 minutes) or an oral exam (about 30 minutes).

English requirements

English route: B2, for example TOEFL iBT 72 or IELTS 6.0, or proof that the bachelor was taught in English.

German requirements

German route: German B2. On the English route German A2 is only recommended.

Accepted bachelor fields

180 ECTS bachelor with at least 20 ECTS mathematics, 100 ECTS in mathematical and CS fundamentals (including at least 20 ECTS algorithms, data structures and programming and 30 ECTS mathematics and control engineering) and a thesis of at least 10 ECTS on a CS or aerospace topic. The burden of proof is reversed: equivalence is assumed unless there are substantial differences.
