Artificial Intelligence

An English-taught, research-oriented master's programme that deepens knowledge in artificial intelligence and develops application-oriented and methodological skills for intelligent systems. It targets future-oriented AI work in an academic and international environment.

Academic requirements

We strongly recommend ready-to-use programming skills (e.g. in Python). We strongly recommend providing access to the applicant's final thesis as proof of his or her scientific work.

Minimum GPA

Overall grade of 2.5 or better on the German grading scale.

English requirements

English language proficiency at level B2. THWS accepts, in particular, TOEFL iBT with at least 83 points, IELTS with at least 6.0, Cambridge B2 First minimum grade C, Cambridge C1 Advanced minimum level B2, or UNIcert II.

German requirements

All non-native German speakers must demonstrate knowledge of the German language at A2 level of CEFR or above. This proficiency level with a corresponding certificate can also be achieved within the first two semesters of your studies.

Accepted bachelor fields

A completed university degree with 210 ECTS in computer science or an equivalent degree in the field of computer science. THWS additionally states that the less related the prior degree is to computer science, the more important it is to demonstrate a clear focus on computer science and mathematics.
