Artificial Intelligence (AI), MSc

Research-oriented master's programme in artificial intelligence that builds broad, methodologically solid expertise across symbolic AI, subsymbolic AI, and AI systems and applications. The 120-ECTS curriculum combines advanced electives, projects, a minor, and thesis-based research.

Academic requirements

Proficiency and experience in both using and programming computers; solid programming experience; well-rounded education in mathematics.

English requirements

TOEFL iBT at least 80/120 or equivalent proof of English; if the bachelor's degree was taught exclusively in English, confirmation from the university is sufficient.

Accepted bachelor fields

Bachelor's degree or comparable qualification in Computer Science, a related scientific or technical field, or Mathematics. For external bachelor's degrees, FAU expects at least 20 ECTS in programming and algorithmics, 15 ECTS in theoretical computer science and logic, 5 ECTS in databases and conceptual modelling, 20 ECTS in mathematics of computer science, and 10 ECTS in software engineering.
