AMASE: Joint European Master's Programme in Advanced Materials Science and Engineering

AMASE is a joint European master's in advanced materials science and engineering with mobility across consortium universities. It combines materials-science theory, research-oriented study, and multilingual international training.

Minimum GPA

No fixed minimum GPA is published on the current official consortium pages.

English requirements

The official consortium pages require sufficient knowledge of the language of instruction at the entrance university at at least CEFR B2 level. If Montanuniversitaet Leoben is selected as entrance or second university, an English certificate of at least B2 is required by application or enrolment.

German requirements

Sufficient knowledge of the language of the first host university; at least some basic knowledge of the language of the second university.

Accepted bachelor fields

The official AMASE consortium pages require a Bachelor of Science or similar degree with training in materials science and engineering, physics, chemistry, or a related engineering discipline, including mathematics, physics, chemistry, physical chemistry, and basic knowledge of the structure and behaviour of materials.

Tuition fee

1,500 EUR per semester for EU students and 4,500 EUR per semester for non-EU students according to the current official AMASE fees page.

Semester contribution

Participation costs include local registration fees. From Summer Semester 2025 onward, the registration fee at Saarland University must be paid separately by the student and can be reimbursed according to the current official AMASE fees page.
