Economic Policy Analysis (EPA)

A research-oriented master's programme that equips students to analyse complex economic issues independently using theoretical and empirical methods. It focuses on economic policy measures across areas such as trade, labour markets, social policy, and environmental policy, including evidence-based policy analysis and behavioural economic methods.

Academic requirements

Prospective students should have an interest in economic issues relating to economic policy.

Minimum GPA

Average grade of 2.9 or better on the German grading scale.

English requirements

English language skills on C1 level. The faculty's accepted proofs include TOEFL iBT 95, IELTS 7.0, CAE grade B/C, GMAT 550, GRE verbal 151 plus quantitative 153, telc C1, PTE Academic 76, UNIcert III, 30 ECTS in English-language modules in the EHEA, and listed equivalent proofs.

German requirements

German skills are not required for this study programme but are important for getting around in Germany and employment.

Accepted bachelor fields

Relevant bachelor's, diploma, or comparable degree with at least 140 ECTS at application time. A degree is relevant if it is in economics or includes at least 60 ECTS in business and economics plus 15 ECTS in quantitative methods for EU degrees, or 12 business/economics modules plus 4 quantitative-methods modules for non-EU degrees. Applicants must also submit the faculty's standardized Relevance form.
