Programme Overview

The PHYSICS International Master of Science program provides advanced education in physics with a strong focus on research. Students join institutes for one-year research projects and become integrated in research groups. The curriculum includes lectures, seminars, laboratory work, and a research project leading to a Master's thesis.

Admission Requirements

Academic requirements: An internationally recognised Bachelor's degree in Physics (or equivalent) is required. The Bachelor's degree has to be equivalent to a BSc degree in Physics obtained at a German university with an above-average grade.
Minimum GPA: Above-average grade required (equivalent to a German B.Sc. in physics with above-average grade).
English requirements: TOEFL (min. ibt 80, cbt 213, pbt 550), IELTS (min. band 6.5), Cambridge Advanced Certificate in English (CAE) or Cambridge Proficiency in English (CPE).
Accepted bachelor fields: Internationally recognized Bachelor's degree in physics (or equivalent). Applicants from related fields can be considered if they passed sufficient courses in physics with excellent results (mechanics, electrodynamics, quantum mechanics mandatory).

Tuition fee: 1500 EUR for non-EU citizens, 0 for EU citizens.
Semester contribution: Approx. 200 EUR per semester.
