Doctoral School: Cultural Conflicts – Conflict Cultures / Conflits de culture – Cultures de conflits

Interdisciplinary Franco-German doctoral school examining cultural conflicts and conflict cultures across humanities disciplines (literary studies, history, cultural studies, linguistics). Hosted jointly by Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf and French partner universities under the German-French University (DFH/UFA). Employs 'histoire croisée' and translational approaches. Instruction takes place in German, French, and English; doctoral candidates work with supervisors at both German and French institutions. Research stays abroad of up to 18 months are supported. Note: proficiency in both German and French is required for admission given the Franco-German academic context; English is used as an additional working language.
