Neurosciences

The MSc Neurosciences provides integrated training across molecular, cellular, systems, and clinical neuroscience with strong emphasis on practical research. Students combine advanced coursework with lab-based project work and a master's thesis in Bonn's neuroscience environment.

Minimum GPA

At least 2.3 in the German grading system or a local equivalent. The official FAQ also notes that applicants should typically have at least 78% in a grading system with 50% as the pass mark.

English requirements

English at minimum CEFR B2. The official admissions pages accept TOEFL iBT 79, TOEFL PBT 550, TOEFL CBT 213, IELTS 6.0, UniCert, Cambridge, DAAD language test, or equivalent; English as the medium of instruction alone is explicitly not sufficient.

German requirements

As a working knowledge of German is necessary for daily private activities, German courses are strongly recommended.

Accepted bachelor fields

Applicants need a degree in biology, psychology, medicine, physics, or a related discipline. The official admissions pages also require solid prior knowledge in subjects such as molecular biology, cell biology, or physiology together with laboratory experience in at least one of these areas.
