Plant Sciences

The MSc Plant Sciences provides integrated training across modern plant biology, from molecules and physiology to biodiversity, biotic and abiotic interactions, and applied plant-science fields. It combines core coursework with extensive lab-based and external practical training.

Minimum GPA

At least 2.7 in the German grading system or a local equivalent; the official admissions page also describes this as about 70% of the maximum score.

English requirements

English at CEFR B2. The official admissions page lists minimum examples of TOEFL PBT 550, TOEFL CBT 213, TOEFL iBT 80, or IELTS 6.0, with specified exemptions.

German requirements

German language proficiency is not required.

Accepted bachelor fields

Applicants need a BSc in life sciences such as biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, agricultural biology, or biotechnology, or another related field. The official admissions page states that applicants from chemistry, physics, forestry, pharmaceutical sciences, or geosciences may also be considered, and it requires at least 20 ECTS of practical laboratory experience.
