Programme Overview

The Contemporary Human Geography Master's programme is designed to foster advanced critical analysis of complex spatial issues, equipping students with the expertise needed to engage with the evolving geographies of our dynamic world. Students can select from one of two pathways: Pathway I – Space, Power & Change (focusing on spatial relationships between communities, cultures, economies, and their interactions with the environment) and Pathway II – Tourism & Leisure (exploring the spatial dynamics of tourism).

Admission Requirements

Minimum GPA: No fixed minimum GPA is published on the current official programme page.
English requirements: Applicants must prove English language proficiency at level C1 (CEFR) via TOEFL (at least 215 CBT/550 PBT/80 iBT), Cambridge Certificate in Advanced English (CAE) / C1 Advanced, IELTS (at least 6.5 overall), or UNIcert III. Exemptions for native speakers from specified countries, or two years of full-time study in English in those countries, or five school years of English plus five points in Abitur English (Germany/Luxembourg).
Accepted bachelor fields: Bachelor's degree or equivalent degree in a geography or social science programme.
