Mechatronics (Specialisation in the International Bachelor of Engineering)

This programme is offered as a specialisation within the International Bachelor of Engineering. It combines mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, electronics, and software for the development and production of mechatronic systems.

Academic requirements

A general or subject-specific higher education entrance qualification is sufficient to qualify for the study programme.

English requirements

For the International Bachelor of Engineering, English at level B2 is required. Accepted English proof includes TOEFL iBT 72+, IELTS 6.0+, TOEIC 785+, Cambridge B2 First grade C or higher, TELC English B2 or higher, PTE Academic 60+, Trinity ISE II or higher, or a completed degree in English.

German requirements

German A2 according to the CEFR. The following German language tests are recognised: Deutsches Sprachdiplom (DSD) level 1 (CEFR A2/B1) or higher; Goethe Certificate A2 or higher; TELC Certificate A2 or higher; ÖSD Certificate A2 or higher; DTZ (Deutsch Test für Zuwanderer) Level A2/B1; Deutsche Sprachprüfung für den Hochschulzugang ausländischer Studienbewerber (German Language Proficiency Test for University Entrance for Foreign Applicants) DSH 1 or higher; Test Deutsch als Fremdsprache TestDaF (German as a foreign language test for foreign applicants); German language courses completed at a university in Germany worth at least 4 credit points at level A2 or higher in accordance with CEFR; Certificate of an assessment to determine the eligibility of foreign applicants to study at institutions of higher education in the Federal Republic of Germany; Completed German-language Bachelor‘s or Master‘s degree; Completed German studies at home and abroad; German at level A in the final certificate of the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. Native German-speaking applicants are not required to submit proof of sufficient German language skills.

University entrance qualification is required for the International Bachelor of Engineering. The Mechatronics specialisation is chosen within the IBE programme after the common initial study phase.
