Development Studies

Interdisciplinary master's programme on development processes under global change, combining development sociology and politics, geography, and economics with regional emphases on Africa, Asia, and Latin America.

Academic requirements

At least four weeks of practical experience abroad dealing with development

Minimum GPA

Final grade of 2.5 or better on the German grading scale.

English requirements

English at C1 CEFR is required.

German requirements

German: Applicants who do not hold a university degree for a programme conducted in German will be asked to prove language skills at level A1 of the Common European Framework of Reference by the end of the first year of studies.

Accepted bachelor fields

Requires a qualifying bachelor's degree in Applied African Studies, African Culture and Society, International Economics and Development, African Development Studies in Geography, Philosophy and Economics, Geography, or another equivalent relevant degree.
