MA Border Studies

This interdisciplinary master's examines borders and border regions from political, social, cultural, legal, and spatial perspectives. It is jointly offered within the UniGR framework and combines mobility, multilingual study, and cross-border research.

Academic requirements

Programme is limited to 20 students. Selection is based on the application documents.

Minimum GPA

No fixed minimum GPA is published on the current official programme pages.

English requirements

The official programme pages state that CEFR B2 is required in all three programme languages. For applicants using English as one of those programme languages, English must therefore be at least B2.

German requirements

For all three languages, the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages level of B2 is required. The burden of proof is on the student.

Accepted bachelor fields

The official programme information requires a first degree in anthropology, cultural studies, geography, history, intercultural communication, law, linguistics, political science, sociology, spatial planning, or a related field.
