Sustainable Engineering of Products and Processes

Bilingual (German/English) Bachelor's programme focusing on fundamentals of mechanical engineering, mathematics, and economic, environmental, social sustainability. First four semesters: compulsory modules available in both languages (bilingual materials). Later semesters: lectures in either language. Includes compulsory modules, specialisation areas (choice in third semester), integrated modules, project work, 10-week internship, Bachelor's thesis. Credits reserved for non-technical courses (e.g., language skills).

Academic requirements

Admission requires a university entrance qualification and the completion of an eight-week internship during which the students obtain basic mechanics skills (if the internship can't be completed before the start of the programme, it can be deferred until the end of the fourth semester).

English requirements

Eight years of English as school subject or internationally recognized certificate (e.g., TOEFL, IELTS, Cambridge Certificate, TU Braunschweig Language Center report).

German requirements

Required language skills in German can be proven by one of the following: German 'Abitur', completion of two years of school education in German, German as a school subject in the last eight years before acquisition of the university entrance qualification or successful completion of the DSH 1, Test-DaF 4x3 or a comparable test. If the German language skills are not met at the time of the application, students can still be admitted if they prove at least basic knowledge in German language (A2 level) at the time of their enrolment. In this case, German classes must be chosen as part of the studies, and students need to fulfil the language requirements by the end of the third semester.
