Computational Mechanics

Interdisciplinary master's combining structural and fluid mechanics with mathematics, computer science, numerical simulation, finite elements, computational materials modelling, and AI-related engineering methods.

Academic requirements

an above-average Bachelor's, Master's degree (or a degree equivalent to these from a German Fachhochschule); Applicants with a degree from an Indian university have to present a valid GATE score of at least 550 (except graduates from an Indian Institute of Technology). GATE scores will be accepted with papers in either civil engineering (CE), mechanical engineering (ME), engineering sciences (XE) in all combinations of sections except for those including (C) or (G).

Minimum GPA

An above-average bachelor's degree is required; no numeric minimum GPA is published.

English requirements

Adequate English is required through TUM-recognized proof, typically TOEFL iBT 88, IELTS Academic 6.5, Cambridge CAE/CPE, or equivalent recognized proof. Applicants whose previous education was not taught in German must also show very basic German knowledge or complete a basic German course in the first two semesters.
