History & Economics (Master of Arts)

Interdisciplinary master's programme in economic history that combines historical analysis with economics and quantitative tools to examine long-term economic and social change.

Academic requirements

If requirements are not fully met, an additional interview process may be required. Conditions may include completing specific modules from the Bachelor's programme at the University of Bayreuth within one year.

Minimum GPA

Final grade of 2.5 or better on the German grading scale, or a comparable international result.

English requirements

English at B2 CEFR is required. Accepted examples include IELTS 5.5 or TOEFL iBT 72. Applicants with degrees from Australia, Ireland, New Zealand, the UK, or the USA are exempt. Proof may be submitted by the third semester.

Accepted bachelor fields

Requires a qualifying degree in economics, European history, philosophy and economics, or a closely related field such as political science, ethnology, or statistics with economics components.
