Programme Overview

This master's deepens theoretical knowledge in communication systems and networks through practical scientific work. It combines interdisciplinary study of information and communication technologies with an individual research-and-development project carried out in cooperation with external partners.

Admission Requirements

Academic requirements: If applicants do not meet 210 ECTS, admission under condition to complete specific courses.
Minimum GPA: Overall grade 2.3 or better in the German grading system.
English requirements: Applicants must prove good English at the time of application. The official page lists TOEFL paper-based 550, TOEFL computer-based 213, TOEFL internet-based 80 for tests before 21 January 2026 or 4.0 for tests from 21 January 2026, IELTS 6.0, or Abitur proof at CEFR B2.
German requirements: No general requirements, but for German-taught modules, DSH 2 or German-taught qualification required.
Accepted bachelor fields: Applicants need a recognized first degree in a relevant natural-science or engineering programme worth at least 210 ECTS. The official page defines relevance as at least 110 ECTS in mathematics, physics, electrical engineering, and computer science.
