Programme Overview

Participants acquire a double Master's degree from either the University of Trento (Sociology and Social Research), University Pompeu Fabra Barcelona (Sociology and Demography), or University of Tilburg (Sociology), combined with a Master's in Sociology from the University of Bamberg, including required study abroad.

Admission Requirements

Academic requirements: Must satisfy admission criteria of both universities in the chosen double degree programme.
Minimum GPA: Minimum GPA of 2.5 (German scale) for Bamberg, 2.36 for Trento.
English requirements: Possess sufficient English language skills (Level B2 of the Common European Framework). For Barcelona: TOEFL (minimum 577 paper-based / 90 Internet-based), IELTS (minimum 6.5 overall, no part less than 6.0), Cambridge First Certificate (A-B), or German Abitur with proof of B2 level. For Tilburg: TOEFL: 577 (paper), 90 (Internet); Academic IELTS: overall 6.5 and no sub-score less than 6.0; Cambridge Proficiency in English: all grades; Cambridge Advanced English: Grades A, B, and C.
German requirements: Trento: B2 German (if starting in Bamberg) or A1 (if starting in Trento). Barcelona and Tilburg: A1 German (can be obtained during first year).
Accepted bachelor fields: Higher education degree in sociology or related fields (social sciences, law, humanities, health sciences) with specific ECTS in sociology (for Bamberg) or in listed areas (for Trento).
