International Master in Applied Geoscience

The Applied Geoscience (MGEX) International Master's programme provides students with a strong foundation in geology, environmental sciences, and geophysics. We particularly look for talented and motivated students who are committed to graduate studies. Our goal is to train students for productive careers in industry, academia, and government by providing innovative teaching and mentoring and opportunities for participation in cutting edge research activities. Students have training opportunities in a wide range of field, laboratory, and numerical approaches. Students learn through coursework, research and teaching as they pursue their degree in a wide variety of areas within these fields of specialisation: Computational and Mathematical Geoscience, Environmental Geoscience, Groundwater Resources, Tectonics and Structural Geology.

Academic requirements

Acceptance into the Geoscience graduate programme depends upon meeting academic standards, having faculty support and securing funding. Competition is stiff; even highly qualified students are not necessarily guaranteed acceptance. To be admitted, you must hold a three-year baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university. Your application must include official college transcripts.

English requirements

Applicants must provide proof of sufficient English proficiency. Those students whose native language is not English must submit a TOEFL score with a minimum requirement of 90 or the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) score with a minimum requirement of 6.5.
