Academic requirements

If the applicant has earned fewer than ten credit points in the field of English Literature and Culture, an obligatory individual advising session is required, which may lead to additional courses from the Bachelor's programme.

English requirements

The reviewed official JGU degree page states that applicants need English-language skills at CEFR C1 level. It accepts evidence such as TOEFL iBT 95, IELTS 7.0, Cambridge English C1 Advanced or C2 Proficiency, or equivalent proof recognised by JGU.

German requirements

Exemption from the DSH: Applicants who have completed their Bachelor’s degree at a non-German speaking institution do not have to provide proof of German language proficiency. Proof of German proficiency seems unnecessary, as the Master's programme in 'Master English Literature and Culture' is offered in English.
