Computer Science

This is a research-based English-language master's programme in computer science with tracks in algorithmics, graphics/vision/audio, information and communication management, and intelligent systems. Students specialise across research areas, complete labs and seminars, and finish with a master's thesis.

English requirements

English at CEFR B2 or higher. The official application page accepts TOEFL iBT with at least 18 points in all four sections if the test is at most two years old, TOEFL iBT 95 regardless of test date, Academic IELTS with at least 5.5 in all four sections if the test is at most two years old, or Academic IELTS 7.0 regardless of test date.

Accepted bachelor fields

Applicants need a first degree in computer science or a closely related discipline with substantial prior knowledge in algorithms, software development, mathematics, scientific writing, and theoretical computer science. The official application page also requires a scientific bachelor's thesis worth at least 10 ECTS and specific prior knowledge comparable to the compulsory Bonn computer-science curriculum.
