International Master's Programme in Language Science and Technology (LST)

This master's programme focuses on basic, applied, and cognitive research on written and spoken language in a strong computational-linguistics environment. Students can specialise in areas such as computational linguistics, psycholinguistics, phonetics and speech science, or speech technology.

Academic requirements

Applicants must hold the German 'Abitur', 'Fachabitur', or an equivalent foreign high school graduation certificate attesting to the qualification for higher education.

English requirements

The official programme page requires proof of English proficiency through TOEFL iBT 79, Cambridge Proficiency pass, Cambridge CAE Advanced grade A or B, or IELTS Academic 6.5. Graduates from German schools can also qualify through at least five years of English at school with an average mark of at least 3.5 in the final two years.
