Programme Overview

PreStudyING@HSRM is a study preparation programme aimed at obtaining a direct university entrance qualification for the Bachelor's degree programmes offered by the Faculty of Engineering at RheinMain University of Applied Sciences. Upon successful completion, participants will be eligible to enrol in a Bachelor's degree programme offered by the Faculty of Engineering without having to attend a German preparatory course ("Studienkolleg"). The programme starts twice a year and takes 12 months to complete. It includes intensive B2 and C1 German language courses, specialised courses in mathematics, physics, and computer science, and workshops on academic skills.

Admission Requirements

Academic requirements: A university entrance qualification acquired abroad that directly qualifies you to pursue a STEM degree programme in the country in which the qualification was obtained; Minimum age: 18 years old
Minimum GPA: Not applicable for non-degree programmes.
German requirements: German language proficiency at the B1 level (CEFR). The language certificate must be no more than one year old at the application deadline. Accepted certificates: Goethe-Zertifikat B1, telc Deutsch B1, ÖSD-B1, onSET B1 from a licensed testing centre (8 texts), Deutsches Sprachdiplom der Kultusministerkonferenz – 1. Stufe (DSD I).
