Neuroscience (International Graduate School) (IGSN)

Candidates prepare a doctoral thesis in neuroscience (project duration: four years). Research topics: olfaction, vision and acting, robotics, learning and memory, cortical and synaptic plasticity, neuron-glia interaction, signal transduction, cerebral asymmetries, clinical neuropsychology, neurodegenerative diseases, computational neuroscience, developmental neuroscience. Programme includes semester-wide neuroscience lecture 'From Molecules to Cognition', oral and written thesis proposals, progress reports, final report, lecture series with external speakers, annual workshops, special symposia, grant writing course, technical training.

Academic requirements

neuroscientific knowledge and interest in an interdisciplinary research and study programme of the International Graduate School of Neuroscience; applicants selected by entrance exam and interview
