Bioeconomy

An interdisciplinary master's programme that examines the full bio-based value chain and the ecological, social, and economic dimensions of the bioeconomy. It combines system and value-chain approaches with innovation, institutional, and policy perspectives.

Academic requirements

A seat is guaranteed to all those who meet the entry requirements.

Minimum GPA

Average grade of at least 3.0 on the German grading scale.

English requirements

TOEFL iBT 90, IELTS 6.5 in all categories, or Duolingo 125.

Accepted bachelor fields

Bachelor's degree with at least 180 ECTS or at least a three-year standard period of study and an average grade of at least 3.0 on the German scale. Accepted profiles explicitly include agricultural, horticultural, forestry, natural-science, engineering, business, economics, and social-science backgrounds with relevant content.

Graduates are able to understand bio-based value chains from the perspectives of companies, established producers, actors gauging product need and acceptance, and organisations supporting development through research and advisory services.
