Professional experience with respect to energy and/or rural development will increase chances of being accepted, but it is not a must for non-DAAD students.

The official SuRE application page accepts IELTS or TOEFL, notes that institutional TOEFL is not accepted, and also accepts an official statement from the university that previous studies were conducted in English; native English speakers are exempted.
