Programme Overview

English-taught consecutive MSc at the interface of mathematics and theoretical physics, combining core mathematical-physics modules with flexible advanced specialisation and a research phase under faculty supervision.

Admission Requirements

Academic requirements: GENERAL QUALIFICATION for the study programme is proven by a first professionally recognised degree qualification.
Minimum GPA: No fixed minimum GPA is published on the current official programme page.
English requirements: Knowledge of English at CEFR B2 level or equivalent.
German requirements: A certified knowledge of German is not required.
Accepted bachelor fields: Usually a bachelor's degree in mathematics, physics, or computer science, or another bachelor's degree with 30 credits in algebra and analysis, of which up to 10 credits may come from other areas of mathematics, and 20 credits in theoretical physics or closely related fields such as quantum mechanics, experimental physics, complex or meteorological systems, dynamic systems, or differential equations.
