The Saarbrücken Graduate School of Computer Science at Saarland University — preparatory phase entry point. DAAD entry 4842 represents the structured entry track for applicants holding a Bachelor's degree or equivalent, who complete a 3-semester preparatory phase before entering the dissertation phase. The preparatory phase does not award a separate degree; upon completion of both phases, graduates receive a doctorate (Dr. rer. nat. or Dr.-Ing.) in Computer Science from Saarland University. The school covers a wide range of computer science research areas and maintains partnerships with Max Planck Institutes and the DFKI.
