Geosciences

The research-oriented MSc Geosciences at the University of Potsdam treats geosciences as a core part of Earth system research and addresses global environmental change. Students build advanced knowledge in modern geosciences and choose among majors such as geology, geophysics, and mineralogy and petrology.

Accepted bachelor fields

A first higher education degree in a geoscientific subject amounting to 180 CP with a standard period of study of at least three years is required. Applicants must also document at least 36 CP in geosciences, earth sciences, mineralogy, geology, and/or geophysics plus 24 CP across mathematics, chemistry, and physics with at least 6 CP in each subject.
