Medical Immunosciences and Infection (Immunology & Infectiology)

This research-oriented international MSc focuses on translational immunology and infectious diseases from a medical perspective. Students gain advanced knowledge of immune-mediated, inflammatory, and infectious diseases through lectures, literature seminars, research projects, and a laboratory-based master's thesis.

Academic requirements

Research experience in the laboratory (wet lab) of at least 15 ECTS is essential.

Minimum GPA

At least 2.3 in the German grading system or a local equivalent.

English requirements

English at CEFR B2 according to the current official degree page. The programme information also states that proof is typically provided through accepted language tests such as TOEFL or IELTS.

Accepted bachelor fields

Applicants need a university degree in a relevant field such as molecular biomedicine, biochemistry, medical biology, biology, human biology, or a comparable life-science discipline. The official degree page requires at least 30 ECTS in immunology, pharmacology, biochemistry, anatomy, or physiology plus another 30 ECTS in chemistry, genetics, developmental biology, molecular biology, cell biology, or microbiology, along with an experimental thesis or 15 ECTS of laboratory experience.
