Programme Overview

Research-oriented LL.M. that builds on a foreign law degree to develop expertise in the German legal system and legal research methods.

Academic requirements: University entrance qualification in conjunction with a law degree
Minimum GPA: No fixed German-grade threshold is published; applicants must be among the best 25% of their cohort.
English requirements: None; the programme is taught in German and requires German level B2 CEFR or higher.
German requirements: Proficiency in German is required at level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, evidenced by a DSH-1 or equivalent German language certificate.
Accepted bachelor fields: Requires a good law degree from a non-German university equivalent to a full law degree; applicants must rank among the top 25% of their cohort.
