Operations Research and Business Analytics (ORBA)

An interdisciplinary MSc combining operations research, business analytics, data management, and quantitative decision support for economics and management. The programme targets applications such as supply chain management, logistics, finance, and risk management.

Academic requirements

Previous advanced knowledge in computer science, such as programming and previous job experience, as well as the motivation letter are important for the selection process. Chosen candidates will be invited to an interview (August). The ORBA programme is a limited places study programme (NC – numerus clausus).

Minimum GPA

GPA from 1.0 up to 2.9 on the German grading scale.

English requirements

English at C1 level. Official ORBA requirement sheet lists TOEFL iBT 108, IELTS 7.0, Cambridge CAE grade C, UNIcert III or higher, or specified equivalent academic-study proofs.

Accepted bachelor fields

Relevant degree with either 45 ECTS in economics and business administration plus 20 ECTS in quantitative methods, or 65 ECTS in mathematics, statistics, econometrics, or operations research; the checklist also states that computer-science knowledge is essential.
