Economics

The MSc in Economics trains students to analyse economic issues rigorously, apply relevant theory and empirical methods, and evaluate the social and political implications of economic activity. It is an analytically focused economics programme with strong methodological grounding.

Academic requirements

University degree with a duration of at least three years

Minimum GPA

The official programme page requires a final grade of 2.5 or better. Applicants with a professionally qualifying bachelor's degree must also belong to the top 65 percent of their year.

English requirements

The official programme page requires English at level B2. Examples given are IELTS 6.0 or higher, TOEFL iBT 90 or higher, or exemption if the entire bachelor's programme was taught in English.

German requirements

In case of choosing the specialisation area "Regional Dynamics", German proficiency at level DSH-2 is required. Some basic German language skills are recommended.

Accepted bachelor fields

Suitable prior studies include economics, business administration with a strong economics focus, economathematics, industrial engineering, or a comparable economics-oriented field.
